Count can mean to add. (Such as 1+2 =3) It can mean many other things also. In counting the number of the beast of Revelation Chapter 13 , the word count itself must be scrutinized in its whole aspect.
In counting we can add, subtract, multiply, divide. It can mean quantity, quality, meditation, contemplation, budgeting, forecasting, reckoning, depiphering, unraveling, resolving. Also it may include, gauging, measuring.
A roll is like a list or roster. It can include a head count, a chronicle, a register, roll call, schedule, scroll or table.
Roll can be like a drumbeat, or thunder, a rumble, or a loud voice or cry, a cycle, rotation, revolution, repetition, spinning, or a turning.
To turn can be like a wheel. A voice can be a proclamation, publication or declaration conveyed in loud form, whispering form, written, audio, video, and other forms.
To count can mean to keep time or watch. In the Bible the day was divided into watches.
Repetition can be like the Midnight Cry of the soon advent of Christ, (Behold the Bridegroom cometh...) repeating. At midnight the sun would shine the brightest.
Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
To compute can mean to meditate on the counting. Meditation is done with the mind. Meditation takes place in a temple, church or sanctuary.
To count can mean to perceive the meaning of something. Perception is seeing, or hearing the word of God. It is done with the eye or ear or mind. Watching with a perceptive eye can give judgment or discernment to an issue.
Obviously, the one (him that hath understanding) with wisdom and understanding has to be told to count the number of the beast. He does it with no genius of his own. If she did it with her own genius she would not have to be told to count. Here is wisdom means the tools necessary to count is supplied by God.
